Kathi Walker
Kathi has spent 30 years at General Motors across engineering, manufacturing, and sustainability leadership. A mechanical engineer by degree with an automotive specialty, her pull toward the industry started early, with a family that raced cars and collected antique cars.
She led the development of GM's first shift-by-wire and Stop/Start systems, taking each from concept through launch and into continued production. Shift-by-wire, now found on nearly every GM vehicle, served as a foundational technology enabling ADAS and autonomous systems and was validated in part through OnStar data collection.
Most recently, as Chief Sustainability Officer and Director of Global Sustainability Strategies, she applied that same engineering rigor to a large-scale transformation portfolio across global manufacturing operations, driving root cause analysis, regulatory alignment, and Lean Six Sigma process improvement.
At AMA, Kathi brings that engineering-to-enterprise range — technical depth, transformation program leadership, and cross-functional execution — to client engagements, with specialties in electromechanical systems, design for manufacturability, and sustainability strategy.
