Today I had the opportunity to attend another great panel discussion at AutoTechDetroit2024 on “Data as a Service: Unveiling the Road to Data Mastery,” moderated by Partha Goswami. The panel featured industry leaders Ryan May from Nikola Motors , Sue Bai from American Honda Motor Company, Inc. Motors, Inc., John Heinlein, Ph.D. from Sonatus and Bharath Ram from Pure Storage.

The discussion delved into whether automakers are truly harnessing the full potential of user data and what strides are necessary in data collection and analysis. The panelists emphasized the need for a deeper understanding of the types of data required and strategies to refine data needs. They highlighted the importance of a robust backend infrastructure to address the data demands of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs). Building trust through transparent and responsible utilization of user consent management.

Innovative approaches for constructing a seamless architecture were explored, with insights into the technological capabilities, analytical tools, and organizational frameworks necessary for effective vehicle data analysis. The discussion underscored the importance of hardware, centralized systems, and agile methodologies in transforming raw data into actionable insights.
